Gaspé is a small town on the tip of the Gaspé peninsula with a population of roughly 15,000. It is a beautiful location surrounded by water and mountains.

Within its boundaries are three world class salmon fishing rivers. They are the York, the Dartmouth and the Saint-John. All can be fished between June and September by paying a daily pass at the Gaspé ZEC office located only minutes from the downtown area.

In addition to salmon fishing, Gaspé offers nature lovers many beautiful locations to visit. It is only 15 km from Forillon National Park, a spot that has amazing hiking trails and beautiful scenery. Gaspé is also located only 60 km from Percé, where one can see the famous Percé rock or take a boat ride around Bonaventure Island, a very important sanctuary for many species of sea birds, particularly the northern gannet. Finally, it is only 10 km from Haldimand Beach, one of the nicest sand beaches in eastern Québec.

Since Fort Ramsay motel and campground is located in the town of Gaspé, it is central to all these activities and thus makes an excellent home base for those that want to take in all the area has to offer.

The map below shows the exact location of Gaspé related to the rest of the province.
